The only things I liked were the location and being allowed to check in early. I won’t be back. The place was dirty: dust in the lobby, hair in the bathroom, and a musty smell everywhere. The hotel and its fixtures are incredibly old. The tubs, sockets, fridge, and wooden furniture all looked ancient, and even the room key made the age obvious. They could at least clean better. Breakfast was a pitiful spread, with watery eggs, sausages swimming in what looked like bath water, tasteless broccoli, and only about five dishes to pick from. I felt I’d wasted the money I paid for it. The Wi-Fi never worked. We were told to use a network with our room number, but it wasn’t there, and they didn’t give us the password for the hotel-wide network. The AC also stopped cooling for around three hours on both nights we stayed. Air came through the vents, but it wasn’t cold, and the room got stuffy enough to wake us. It was very uncomfortable.

Getting around was easy, with the MRT nearby, and the reception staff were kind. The room turned out bigger than rooms in other city hotels I’ve stayed in, and it was better than some reviews had led me to expect. Breakfast didn’t have many choices, but it tasted good.

Our family room smelled moldy. After I complained, they moved us to a clean room, but it was much smaller.

The staff were very helpful, though the building is quite old. I found a roach on the floor. My room’s window was tiny, and all I could see through it was the emergency stairs.

The train station is just a four-minute walk away, with lots of accessible Family Mart and Watson’s nearby. It’s a great location in Taipei, and the staff were very friendly. The room was clean and practical, with a kettle, TV, and functional cabinets. I liked their eco-friendly option to let guests choose when to have the sheets changed, and there was an extra pillow available. I’d happily stay again on my next visit.
