Hatago+ The Alley

The room worked well for the three of us, and we were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade. The staff, manager included, were friendly and helpful. We checked out early, then returned for our luggage later. They let us relax in the lounge for a few hours before our flight home, which we really appreciated. Great stay, and I’d recommend it if you want to be near Ximending Street.

It was a comfortable family stay, with big, comfy beds and a neat, clean, functional room. The location is ideal, close to everything, and it was nice to come back here after exploring Taipei. Finding the place took a little effort at first, but reviews had pointed out that it’s down an unmarked alley, with a 7 Eleven marking the entrance.

Hatago + Alley was a relaxed, clean place to stay, and after three nights we felt at home. The hotel sits down an alley, away from the busy pedestrian zone, so coming inside felt peaceful. Ximen’s lights, restaurants, cafes, and shops are about a ten-second walk away. Several public transport options are within five minutes, and you can walk to many sights from the door. The receptionists were kind, helpful, friendly, and proactive. Our room had what we needed, including a balcony, hot water, a boiler, free coffee and tea, a hairdryer, and body gel. The beds and pillows were wonderful. The shower had hot water and a glass door to keep splashes in, and the toilet had a built-in bidet. My only suggestion is adding body lotion alongside the body gel and conditioner. Guests can use a shared lounge with a free coffee machine. We were welcomed with free ice cream, and there’s a washing machine for a small fee. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, clean, laid-back stay.

The room was very clean, and the bed and pillow felt fresh and comfortable. The towels were a little old, though still very clean. It’s right by Ximen walking street, with lots of good restaurants within a ten-minute walk.
