Salum made me feel welcome right away, and we had a great conversation. The lodge has a genuinely homely feel, with kind people who were always checking whether I needed anything or help connecting with trips. The food was lovely, and the fresh juices they make each day were a highlight. My room had a large double bed, an en suite, wardrobes, a dressing table with a big mirror, a dining table and chairs, a sofa, a fridge freezer, and a balcony. There’s WiFi too. They cleaned and tidied the room daily when I asked. The flowers and plants outside look lovely. It’s about a 20-minute drive from central Zanzibar town and around 30 minutes from the airport. The lodge is far enough from town to feel peaceful, but close enough to get there when needed. I don’t usually leave Google reviews, but I’d recommend staying here for the people, food and drinks, and a chance to see how beautiful Zanzibar is.

The rooms were very clean and could easily fit six people. Yolande also sorted out our rides in both directions and kept us updated on the arrangements. She was helpful throughout our stay, even making a really delicious chicken soup to suit our needs. The owner was friendly and easy to talk to. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

The beaches nearby are full of locals, and I liked them more than the usual tourist spots, away from all the commotion. This place felt like just the right stay off the beaten path. Yolanda and her house keeping girl Gemasalhiya were great. They were hospitable and reasonable, did what they could to make my stay a positive one, and both had lovely personalities.

Yolanda and the rest of the staff were so friendly, and you can count on them if you need anything. The place was very clean and had WiFi, air conditioning, a hot shower, a TV, and a kitchen. There’s also a laundry area, and you can ask them to do your laundry.
