Kendwa Rocks Beach Hotel

We had a great visit to Kendwa Rocks Beach and would definitely come back. The location is perfect, the vibe is relaxed, and the food was really tasty. Ibrahim was such a kind, positive, and friendly waiter. He was easy to talk to, helped with everything we wanted, and took great care of us with a smile the whole time. Highly recommend!

The three waiters on the beach made the visit feel welcoming from the moment we arrived. Two gentlemen and one lovely lady brought such warm smiles, positive energy, and a professional attitude. They created exactly the kind of relaxing atmosphere we wanted.

The service was a 10/10, with everyone being lovely the whole time, and the food was delicious. The beach, the breakfast and dinner area, and our rooms were all fantastic. I can recommend this hotel in every way and hope to come back soon.

I spent a week working remotely from Kendwa Rocks, and it was a real paradise. I picked it because I’d heard it had the island’s only proper coworking space, and it lived up to that: strong wifi, meeting rooms, good coffee, AC, ocean views, and lovely staff. It’s open 24/7 and hotel guests can use it freely. Kendwa is still my favorite beach in Zanzibar. I’d been to the island before, and chose this area because you can swim at any time of day since it isn’t tide dependent. The water is crystal clear and turquoise, and I loved jumping in between meetings. My mornings started at the ocean view gym, which I usually had all to myself, then breakfast for protein and vitamins: ginger shot, tuna gravlax, eggs and cheese, oat porridge, and tropical fruit. The breakfast playlists set a perfect mood each morning :) I booked a standard room and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. It was super clean and comfortable, with great water pressure and a lovely balcony. From check-in through check-out, staff were helpful, smiling, professional, and eager to make the stay unforgettable. It really was ♥
