There are just 3 rooms, with beds for up to 11 people, so it works really well for a small family holiday. We found plenty of lovely corners with sea or garden views to relax in, and Mnemba Atoll, a prime dive site, is close by. This charming private villa in north-east Zanzibar feels like paradise, with its lush garden, pool and attention to detail. The food was great, and the charming staff looked after our personal wishes, arranged trips and shared insights about local life.

It’s a bit remote, with nothing around the area, so it’s ideal if you want to be on your own. When I was there for a few days, I was the only guest. The place is smallish and cosy, with a beautiful garden and a view of the beach. I loved relaxing there, especially reading by the pool. The staff are very friendly and will arrange whatever you need.
