The bar and restaurant were really good, with fair prices and friendly staff. The pool area was lovely and well kept, breakfast was okay with fresh fruit and juice, and the beach was about a 15-minute walk away. The problem was a pneumatic hammer from construction next door. It started around 8:35-45 am every day except Sunday and went on past 3 pm. We left for the beach at 3, so I don't know exactly when it stopped. It was extremely loud and constant, waking us up and making it hard to relax by the pool when the sun was too strong for the beach. I couldn't focus on my book. I know the hotel isn't responsible for the construction, but we'd paid to rest and should have been told about it. We probably would've picked somewhere else. I'd recommend the place, but check that the work is finished first.

We arrived without knowing the place was closed. Once inside, someone told us, and we accepted that. Instead, they verbally attacked us. We were treated terribly. Zanzibar is beautiful, but don't come here.

The staff were consistently kind and helpful, and we actually liked the restaurant. The price is attractive, but I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending the accommodation until the rooms are properly refurbished. Our first room smelled so strongly of mold that the air felt nearly unbreathable, and it didn't seem healthy to sleep there. We would've asked to move anyway. They kindly moved us to another room because of nearby construction noise, but the mold was still noticeable there, although less intense. On the third day the shower stopped working, and there were visible signs of water damage too. Breakfast could use improvement. There wasn't much choice, and we saw bees around the jams, honey, and even the sugar.

The bar and restaurants were a fun place to hang out, meet local friends, and make memories. A big screen for football, darts, and a pool table kept everyone connected. If you're in Nungwi Baobao, give it a visit and prove me wrong.
