Lighthouse Guesthouse

There are four guesthouses connected together, which gives the place a cozy feel. At $53 a night, with breakfast and air conditioning included, Lighthouse Guesthouse is a good deal for the price. The service was excellent. Breakfast was ready as soon as we got up, and the manager was reachable 24 hours a day. He helped with everything from arranging a snorkeling trip to finding a driver. The rest of the staff were kind and always happy to help. There was Wi-Fi, not the best, but good enough for basic social media and messages. The hotel has a generator in the neighboring house, so it isn’t deafening, which is nice since Zanzibar’s power grid isn’t great. A good option if you’re trying to keep your trip on budget.

We were so lucky to meet Dula at Lighthouse Guesthouse. He’s the best: kind, helpful whenever you need him, and full of warmth and positive energy. He did everything he could to make us feel at home and make our stay amazing. All the staff helped make the experience incredible. Highly recommend! P&JP

Yes, yes, and yes. The location is perfect, breakfast is delicious, and the rooms are cheap, clean, and comfortable. There’s security at night, a very kind Masai guy, and a nice dog and cat 😀. Bless Abdullah, he’s so helpful and speaks English really well. Ask him if you’re looking for places to go, a taxi, or trips. I’d happily come back. Lukas

The staff were cheerful, polite, and so kind from the start. They made us feel very welcome. We found the rooms clean and comfortable, the bathroom well maintained, and the breakfast delicious, a lovely way to start the day. The only thing that was difficult for us personally was the night noise. Our room faced the street, and the windows had no glass. Apart from that, we loved the stay and really appreciated the warm atmosphere created by the staff.
