Friends Forever - Hostel

We were three friends visiting on Sunday. The reception girls were really friendly and answered all our questions. It felt like a familiar, nice hostel, and they let us leave our bags there until it was time to head to the airport after checkout. Thanks again for everything!

It's a small hostel in central Kiew, and finding the entrance can be tricky. You need to knock or ring so someone will let you in. Drinking water is available, a big plus, since you should be careful with the tap water. The lockers work, but you have to leave a deposit, and the WiFi worked well. The staff are friendly and there for you 24/7. The toilets are clean and the shower is very good, though the beds are very soft. There's no cozy lounge, so there isn't much chance to chat with other travelers. If all you need is a bed, I'd recommend it. For socializing or cooking together, I'd pick a bigger hostel.

The location is really great, close to the center, restaurants, and the metro. The hostel is clean, the receptionists are kind, and towels are free. The locker isn't in the room and costs 50UAH, which is returned at the end of your stay. The side street off the avenue looked a little strange and maybe unsafe to me at first, though I had no problems, even arriving at night. It seems most people stay long term, so if you want to meet other tourists, have fun, and go out, this may not be the hostel for you. If you're saving money, exploring the city, and only need somewhere to sleep, it's a good option. I'd rate it three or four, depending on what you're expecting.

The people were kind, and the private bathrooms were nice. But the kitchen was really small, with just one cooker, and I couldn't pay by card. I had to withdraw cash, and the fee was almost as much as the room.
