Mezzanine Hotel

It's such a lovely place, right in the heart of Odessa, with a nice suite and balcony, a neat reception and cool design. But I saw a cockroach as fat as a dog, so now I need to sleep with the lights on. There are glasses, but no cups, and no cutting knife.

The beds were decent, and the curtains gave you some privacy. The toilets were fairly clean, but the water was shut off without warning, so we couldn't flush. There isn't really a common room either, and many long-term guests didn't seem interested in talking with travelers. The washing machine situation was frustrating. Staff first said we could use it that evening, then said we couldn't, but that the next day would be fine. The next morning they blamed a water shortage. When I pointed out they were washing two things themselves, they said the water was needed for showers. I offered to skip mine, and two hours later they let us wash our clothes. The staff handled this badly, and I can't recommend staying here.

The location is great, but I expected more from the rooms and service. There was no water in my room or hairdryer, and I had to ask for hand soap after checking in. Nobody replaced my towels or toilet paper. Such a good location deserves better rooms and service.

The place has a great vibe, and check-in was easy. I arrived at 1am after traveling all day, and the person at the desk just gave me a key and said we could deal with the money the next day. They were happy to help with anything I needed. It can be hard to find at night because the signs aren't visible. Also, the walls seem mostly decorative. I could hear people breathing in the next room.
