The White Hart

We had a table for 13 on the first Sunday after Christmas for a 70th birthday, and the staff even brought the cake over once we’d finished our mains. Everyone was friendly, and the room felt cosy without being crowded. There was loads of choice and the food was very good. The starters and roast dinners were especially generous, though the meat platter felt a little less balanced. We loved the chakalaka and polenta chips, but wished there’d been more of them.

That sticky toffee pudding was the best dessert I’ve had since being here, absolutely amazing. The baby back ribs were tender and came with plenty of sauce. Being from the States, I missed the smoky grill flavour I’d expect back home, but they were still good. I’d definitely come back. No photo of the ribs because I’d already eaten half.

We only came for dinner, so I can’t speak to the accommodation. The dining room was tastefully done, with some great artwork, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was very good and nicely presented. I’d visit again if I’m in the area.

We’ve always enjoyed the steaks here, and they’ve been just right every time over the years. This visit, we tried a roast and the new meat platter after the couple at the next table recommended it, then added a rump steak. We polished it all off. Great atmosphere, great service, and the food never lets us down. Thank you!
