The worst part was finding several kinds of bed bugs in room 20, after I spotted dried blood on my pillow. We had to wake our young daughter, and the whole weekend was badly disrupted. We barely slept. I had to pack everything again, change rooms, check our belongings and take steps to avoid bringing the bugs home. I was later refunded for one night, but only after pushing for it, and I’m still out of pocket for replacing a teddy and pajamas. The email I sent to the Comfort Inn explaining everything has had no reply. I told reception straight away. The man asked whether we wanted to move and showed no interest in the photos and videos I offered. I later found out he was the owner. We were moved, and I appreciate that, but nobody acknowledged the seriousness of the infestation or apologized. In the new room, there were false eyelashes on the bathroom floor. A friend in another room found that its bathroom window was clear glass facing the main road and car park. She had to hold a towel over it while her daughter showered. She raised it with the owner, who apparently hadn’t known, but again there was no apology. There was no blind or curtain, which seemed like a safety concern. And housekeeping seemed absent over the weekend. The same sweet wrapper sat in the middle of the communal floor from Saturday until Monday.

We had a lovely few days here, and it was just as friendly as on my first visit. The rooms look fresh, the bed was really comfortable, and the bathroom was much nicer. You’re close to everything, yet it’s quiet once you’re back in your room. I’m already looking forward to coming back.

Breakfast was meant to be included, but we checked several times between 8 and 9 in the morning and found the dining room locked with no staff around. The Wi-Fi was so weak it wouldn’t connect or load properly either. The bedroom and bathroom were cramped and extremely small. I’ve stayed in London and never had so little space, which was disappointing in Blackpool. It was a very poor stay.

You can walk to the promenade, shops, restaurants and attractions from this hotel, right in central Blackpool. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was very good. A handy, no-fuss place to stay.

The location beside Winter Gardens is excellent, but the rooms and hotel were appalling. We were charged three times for the booking and had to phone twice to get the extra payments refunded. I’m now trying to complain to head office. The room was filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. There were sweet and crisp wrappers under the beds, blood, snot and makeup on the walls, and dirty towels. The plug sockets and fan were broken, the bathroom door had no lock, and the shower only trickled, swinging between freezing and boiling. Water kept dripping somewhere outside. There was no hot breakfast, and nobody explained why. Other guests gathered and smoked outside the entrance. I could go on.
