It's a comfortable, clean hotel with what you need for an overnight visit. The rooms are fairly small, but there's storage, and the updated bathroom was spotless with clean towels, soap, a shower and a bath. The dining areas and public bars looked really nice. I didn't get the chance to try the river walk, though I heard it's good, and saw people out walking their dogs early in the morning. It's not luxurious, but very comfortable.

The garden views over the River Trent were one of my favourite things, and I loved the bar and restaurant. Room 15 was cosy and just right for me, with a lovely bathroom. The food was perfect: I had the cooked breakfast every day and it was faultless. I'd especially recommend the evening duck and beef. There were so many thoughtful details, from the log fire while it snowed outside to the handwritten welcome note and chocolates on the bed. I also liked the little refillable milk churn at the tea and coffee station, for anyone who doesn't want to use the UHT pods. Most of all, the whole team made my stay feel smooth and enjoyable. Nat made sure I could check in after snow delayed my drive down from Edinburgh, and Jamie always got the service just right. Thanks to everyone for their work. I hope to return sometime, and wish you all the best.

The restaurant was a highlight. The lamb shank was cooked just right, and the dessert tasted as good as it looked. The dining room beneath the big skylight had a lovely atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I was travelling across England for work when I found this gem. The Riverside Hotel surpassed what I expected. Adam and the team left a handwritten note and a chocolate on my bed, such a lovely personal touch that made me feel at home. It's right beside the River Trent, with a peaceful path just outside that was perfect for clearing my head after meetings.

There was no real noise from other guests. The room was clean, tidy and well turned out, with everything we needed for the night.

It's a lovely spot beside the river, and the food was lovely too. The service, though, was dire. There were only two staff running the restaurant while the duty manager was in the bar. Everyone was complaining, and even the two staff were making excuses. We won't be back.
