Just a ten-minute stroll gets you to the town centre, and there’s plenty of private parking outside the hotel. Staff gave us a lovely warm welcome and showed us to our room. It was spacious and nice enough overall, though some furniture looked tired and mismatched. The guest tray had quality coffee and snacks, and there were handy USB sockets. It was a bit chilly, but staff were happy to turn on the central heating early. We went to a murder mystery dinner. It was lots of ham-acting fun, if a little confusing. The fantastic food made the night, with exceptional quality and generous portions. Breakfast was very good too. We’d happily come back.

Duncan greeted us on arrival and made us feel very welcome. He was friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable. Emma took good care of us at breakfast the next morning. The staff, good value and pleasant location all made for a very nice stay. There’s a pretty loch nearby, as well as some nice walks. I’d thoroughly recommend it.

We had a brilliant time at the Abbotsford, from check-in to check-out. Duncan was incredibly welcoming and attentive, and knew a lot about the Callander area. Our room was lovely and cosy, and both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Thanks to Sophie as well for taking such care with our breakfast.

Duncan at reception helped me a lot during the trip, and the staff were all amazing. They were very accommodating with allergies, and there were plenty of breakfast choices. It’s just a short walk to the town centre and a great base for hikes nearby. A lovely hotel, and I’ll definitely be back soon.

We were staying nearby, not at the hotel, and dropped in on the spur of the moment for a meal. The staff member looking after us was attentive and accommodating, and was great with our toddler. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The food was incredible, fresh and very much homemade, with inventive local dishes that everyone enjoyed. The reception, bar, restaurant and toilets were all immaculately presented. A beautiful hotel.
