The Raceby Hotel, Doncaster

I’ve been staying here every week for the past couple of months and haven’t had a bad experience. The rooms, staff, and restaurant are what I expect from a premier inn: reliable and good quality. Steph always greets me warmly. She’s friendly and knows her stuff, and represents the service really well. I’ll keep coming back.

We spent a lovely few days at Doncaster Central East Premier Inn and will definitely book again before long. Steph and Tyler at reception were fantastic. Steph was a ray of sunshine, did everything she could for us, and made sure we had the best, most enjoyable time possible. Her customer service was second to none.

After several stays, we haven’t been able to find even a small fault at Central East. My wife works as a housekeeper for Marstons and has a keen eye for details like paint chips. The hotel has just been refurbished and looks great, with air conditioning as a welcome addition. The staff at the hotel and bar are always polite and welcoming, and the meal deal is very good value. Of the three Premier Inns we’ve tried, Doncaster central east sets the standard by far over Grimsby and Cleethorpes. At Grimsby we found big cobwebs and poo in the toilet, and Cleethorpes had dirty hallway carpets. We’ve never had those problems at Central East.

Check-in wasn’t a great start. There was no receptionist around, and we had to wait for someone to show up. The rooms are okay, but feel unfinished and poorly maintained. The shower was broken, the sockets weren’t set up correctly, and whoever looks after the rooms needs to get their eyes tested.
