My room felt tidy and inviting, and I was relaxed during my stay. The hotel itself is clean and cosy, with a warm, cared-for atmosphere, and everyone I dealt with was welcoming and genuinely helpful. The shower head was fixed to the wall and couldn’t be moved or adjusted, which made showering a little inconvenient. Still, that was a small issue in an otherwise great visit. I’d happily stay at the Garner Hotel again and recommend it to anyone after a clean, comfortable place with such helpful staff.

The room had everything I needed and was tastefully decorated. I especially appreciated how thoughtfully the lighting had been planned, and the bed and bedding were super comfortable. Reception staff were really friendly and welcoming, which made for a very pleasant stay.

The room was clean and modern, and the price of £50-70 is competitive for its size, location and amenities. The advertised size and inclusions matched what we got, and the staff were extremely attentive and kind. The location is very convenient, just across from the Scotrail station, tram and bus stops, with a direct tram to the airport. There’s a nice lounge in the lobby, a coffee shop by check-in, and a restaurant next door. The hallway carpets were filthy and need cleaning. There was only one elevator because of “maintenance,” but reviews suggest it’s been out of service for quite a while. The room’s size and layout were awkward: there wasn’t room for all the bath towels in the bathroom, so some had to be kept outside, and I kept bumping into the wall-mounted TV because there was so little space between it and the bed. For a solo trip it was fine and good value, but I wouldn’t choose it first next time. A standard double room meant for two would be an absolute no-go for two people.

We’ve just had a two-night stay and would happily come back. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the place was scrupulously clean. The room was a little tight, but nothing drastic. The location was ideal for bus, tab and train, all right outside, and Princes St. is a 15-minute walk away. There’s free tea and coffee at reception but no kettle in the room. That worked for us. Highly recommend.

The fire alarms sounded several times during the night because of a small fire in a neighbouring establishment’s kitchen that the fire brigade couldn’t access. We had to evacuate at about 2 AM, then the alarm went off again at 9:30 AM, which definitely affected our sleep. Apart from that unlucky timing, this is a well-located, fairly priced hotel with friendly staff. The tram stop and rail station are right outside, with plenty of local places to eat and coffee shops nearby. Both lifts were working, and our twin room was a good size, with plenty of room around the beds and lots of shelves and hangers for our things. The bathroom was reasonably spacious, though the toilet placement might feel awkward to some. Drainage was a little slow, and cleaning seemed to cover just the essentials, but neither caused a major problem. The listings are accurate, and the price is very competitive for what you get.
