Gleneagles Townhouse

The old banking hall is such a special place for a drink, and breakfast was another highlight, fresh and well prepared. We also found the rooms beautiful and comfortable, and the interior has loads of character. Housekeeping did accidentally throw away two bags, one with a comb in it. Reception couldn't recover them or offer reimbursement, which was disappointing. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay at Gleneagles Townhouse.

Lamplighters on the roof was such a nice spot for a drink. Greg, our bartender, was lovely and really fun to chat with. My husband and I spent a few nights here and had a great time. Every space was beautifully decorated and well looked after, and the service was impeccable, from the front desk to the restaurant and rooftop bar. Everyone made us feel so welcome. Can't wait to come back.

Dinner at The Spence was excellent, and the space is stunning. Jay deserves a shout-out. The thoughtful design carries through every corner of the building, which has elegant Gleneagles charm in a more intimate city setting. It's a curious blend of boutique hotel, members' club and co-working space, and it all fits together seamlessly. We only stayed one night, at the end of a long trip, and it was a perfect finale. Richard greeted us so kindly at the door, and Patrick at reception made everything easy the next morning. The rest of the staff were professional and personable too. My father-in-law doesn't often visit places like this, but the team's warmth and the comfort won him over completely. Gleneagles Townhouse lived up to its reputation and exceeded our expectations. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Lamplighters has been a lovely place for a relaxing drink, and the gym and comfortable workspaces have been great since I became a member. I also stayed in one of the rooms recently. It was gorgeous, cozy and thoughtfully designed, and every staff member I've met has been welcoming and helpful. Eva from turndown service was especially kind. She brought extra water, tea bags and coffee, and made sure I had what I needed. Her care really stood out.
