The bed sheets and bathroom were clean when I checked closely, and the host responded quickly with a solution when there were no keys in the Bluetooth lockbox. But at 3am, another guest came into our room. It was frightening and a real shock. Either the room had been double booked, or the keys opened several rooms. That's poor service. The place looks like a cute, cosy B&B in the pictures, but it was dingy, had a strange smell throughout, and needs extensive renovation. There are stains on the carpets and no staff on site. Thankfully we only stayed one night, but it wasn't comfortable or cosy as I'd expected, and I can't recommend it.

There aren't many places to eat nearby, so it's about a 10-minute walk to Haymarket for more choice. With Deliveroo, ordering takeaway wasn't a problem for me. The entrance and lobby looked tired, but that didn't match the room itself, which was clean and warm, with plenty of hot water.

My sister left her coat behind, and the staff have been incredibly helpful getting it back to her. I'm so grateful. We were in town for a rugby trip and loved the comfortable rooms, which had everything we needed, and the easy check-in. Breakfast was lovely too. 6 westcoats is in a fantastic central location. We look forward to coming back, and will stay here again. Definitely recommend.

The bathroom was spacious, but the shower's hot water kept coming and going, and we were given used, unclean towels. Our room, N15, had stained walls, no tables or bedside lamps, and water leaking through a small atrium window. From outside, the Victorian house style suggests comfort, but the room was nothing like that. A real shame.

The locks jam, so it's easy to leave your key inside or outside and get locked in or out. It's self-service too. Still, the price is a steal for the location: less than two minutes to the bus stop and within walking distance of the train station. The room was clean and large, with mostly antiquated utensils and decor, which I love. It was freezing outside during my visit, but the room stayed warm and the radiators worked fine. There's an accessible kitchen with a working microwave and fridge, though a staff member told me the utensils are for breakfast only.
