Baba and the rest of the staff were welcoming and genuinely friendly, which you don't come across as often these days. We especially enjoyed dinner, with the Pigeon and Stone Bass standing out, and breakfast was excellent too. We'd choose to stay again when we're in the area.

Breakfast was the best part: hot, fresh, and tasty. The location is lovely and peaceful, but the dining room felt so uncomfortable, like walking into a wake. Our superior double didn't feel superior at all. It was very dated, probably untouched for at least 30 years, with marked walls and dark, stained, old furniture. The bed was rock hard, the pillows were flat, and instead of a duvet there was just a sheet and blanket. The bathroom was okay, but the shower had almost no pressure and the toilet wouldn't flush properly. It could be beautiful with a complete refurbishment and a lot of investment, but we won't stay again or recommend it.

Went for Sunday roast today and it was absolutely outstanding. The place has come a long way since my last visit. Three courses were £45.

A visit to see Dazzle the pony is always a bonus, and the grounds are such a lovely place to unwind. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, thanks to the owner and the lovely staff. The hotel is amazing and serves fantastic food. We had a wonderful Sunday lunch. Keep up the great work, everyone.

A lovely countryside stay with old-world charm. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was really tasty.
