We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant downstairs, and my partner said the pork chop was the best she'd ever had. The canal is beautiful, the area felt very safe, and the location was lovely. Staff were helpful, including when we accidentally locked ourselves out. Our room was clean, with quality furnishings, a comfortable bed, a fridge and a fan, plus a lovely canal view. The only issue was the light biscuit carpet, which showed a few stains.

We had a really great dinner in the lockeeper restaurant and amazing views of the river. The room was nice and big, with an amazing shower, though getting into the bath to use it was quite a leg-over. The bed was so comfy we slept until 07.00, which we never do.

After driving 165 miles, I arrived and was shown to the room. I had a cold and wasn't feeling great, so I didn't want to sit downstairs coughing near the two people eating in the bar. When I asked the jumped up little manager if I could order food to my room, I was told no food was allowed in the rooms. What hotel refuses room service? They wouldn't even consider booking again.

We booked a family suite for four several months ahead so we could attend a family wedding. Two weeks before the booking, they cancelled it and booted us out, saying there was another wedding and they'd booked the wrong dates. Their mistake affected nobody but us. Awful experience.

Dinner was excellent as always, and the freshly revamped Garden Room made for another pleasant stay. They didn't have Bath Gem ale, though *pouty face*, so I had to settle for a Beavertown Neck Oil, or three... Highly recommended, but check with me first, I don't want you booking my room!
