After my stay, I found my credit card had been charged twice for the same booking. I’d booked two rooms for one night through the hotel’s website, but the page froze and closed before I could finish. No confirmation email arrived. I waited two days, then tried calling, but couldn’t get through over the weekend. Since the booking was urgent and important, I confirmed it anyway. I explained what had happened to the hotel and asked for the duplicate charge to be refunded. They had all the details but refused, and weren’t cooperative. In a situation like this, I’d expect some basic goodwill from customer service. I found the hotel unfair and unfriendly, and strongly wouldn’t recommend it. It’s disappointing to see a big hotel chain seem so greedy for money.

Breakfast at the brewery’s Faye was very nice. The rest of the experience left me worried, though. A couple of weeks ago, my room seemed pleasant enough, apart from the external TV ports not working. In the morning, I overheard the cleaner and the hotel manager/receptionist talking about BEDBUGS. The cleaner said they couldn’t believe the issue hadn’t been sorted. I raised a case with Premier inn to try to get my stay refunded, but they refused, saying bed bugs weren’t enough to disturb sleep. Would you stay somewhere after hearing hotel staff report bed bugs? I don’t think I would.

The rooms at this particular Premier Inn are always stone cold in winter. Getting up in the morning is miserable. Please set them to at least 19 or 20 deg and give guests some control over the heating. Once I was shivering so badly I could see my breath condense. I’ve stayed here a few times across 15 years. Its main draw is the location for people who drink, and there are often drunk people hanging about trying to get a room together.

Breakfast was a treat, sitting above the Coventry Canal and watching the barges go past. The room was really spacious, with a lovely bathroom, and I had a very relaxing stay. Reception staff were helpful when I asked them to sort out a couple of things in my room. Enjoyed my stay, thank you! 😁⛴️🛶🏞️🕶️☀️
