Getting here was easy, even with my huge duffle: bus 100 goes directly from the airport and stops right in front of the hotel. The shower was very good, the bed was great, and everything was clean. You can call and speak directly with the workers, which is a real plus these days. Tea and coffee are there too. It's a super cute traditional English house run by a family. A few little things could be renewed, but I'm glad they haven't, it's more sustainable.

Fine for a night, with basic amenities, an easy check-in and cleanliness that was okay, more or less. They offer breakfast. There’s a 24-hour petrol station nearby, and shops and restaurants are about a five-minute walk away. Bus stops are right outside, and it’s close to Stansted airport.

For £62 I got one night and three days of parking, which is a bargain. The room was clean and tidy, though dated, but it is a converted house. It’s a 20-minute walk from the south terminal if you’re up for that, otherwise there’s a bus stop at the front door. The shower gel was odd, so bring your own.

Horley is an easy five-minute walk, with restaurants, groceries and some cute shops, and the train station is about ten minutes away. For the airport, it’s a few minutes by car, around ten minutes by bus from the stop right outside, or half an hour on foot. I wouldn’t try that last option with a rolling suitcase. They offer paid rides too. We found the house cute and quiet, and our clean, practical room had tea and instant coffee. The washroom was also clean and functional, though water drained poorly in the shower. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating, and the Wi-Fi was good. Email replies took a while, but messages through booking.com came quickly. Prices seemed in line with other guest houses nearby. If you need the north terminal, walk to the south terminal and take the free shuttle train.

We didn’t feel safe here. Someone tried to get into our room during the night, and there was scratching at the walls and ceiling. The conditions felt unsanitary throughout. The room seemed completely destroyed, and from the moment we entered, I wanted to scream. The Tourette's Syndrome Hotel.
