Admiral Rodney Hotel

The dining area looks particularly lovely, and the food was excellent, with quality ingredients cooked just right. Every member of staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean, warm, comfortable, and had a nice ambience. A lovely place to stay, just excellent.

We tried the vegan meatballs with loaded sweet potato fries, then shared a black forest sundae. There were several vegan choices on the menu, plus four vegan desserts, which was a much better selection than I expected. The portions were just right, and the cosy atmosphere and super friendly, welcoming staff made it a lovely meal. We'd visit again if we're in the area.

It's such a lovely atmosphere here, and the staff are lovely too 😍 We like settling onto the comfy sofas with a glass of fizz and a board game for the kids. And the roast dinner is amazing!

We came for an event on Saturday and stayed the weekend. The staff were the best I've met, and the drinks were priced similarly to a proper pub. Booking early gets you a good price; otherwise, I'd look at other places. We had dinner both nights and chose different things to try as much as possible. My partner is coeliac, so there weren't many good options for us. Dinner was okay, but dishes tagged "gfo" (gluten-free option available) had essential ingredients taken out. For meals between breakfast and dinner, it came down to either getting no carb or having one of two types of bread that took away from the meal. The rooms look better than their actual quality. Neither of us could get comfortable in the bed, and the couple who came with us couldn't either.
