Mercure Hull Grange Park

Our wedding day at the end of May 2025 was wonderful, and the day itself exceeded our expectations. We got married in the Secret Garden, then had drinks and photos in the main garden. The service was fantastic, and the support the night before, while we decorated ourselves, was amazing. Everything ran perfectly, everyone had a fantastic time, and Maurice, our dedicated host, was brilliant. The food was great and the bar staff were friendly. Before the wedding, the service started well, but after some staff changes we sometimes felt forgotten. Email replies were delayed, and speaking with different people sometimes led to conflicting information. I understand staff changes can be hard, but this left me a bit anxious about the day. Our room for the night was comfortable, although I was concerned after reading earlier reviews. The carpets were a little tired, but otherwise we were very happy. Thank you, Mercure, for helping us make such magical memories.

I booked through the AllAcor app as a gold member and was pleased to get an automatic upgrade to a junior suite. Reception, bar and leisure club staff were all wonderful. The room service arrived quickly and was good value. I ordered from the children’s menu again because I’m trying to lose weight, and the portion was perfectly adequate, perhaps even generous, for the price. Breakfast was only £12 extra and was excellent value. There weren’t many guests on Monday morning, so the cooked food was made to order. It came out quickly and the serving was generous. The food was excellent. I also liked having a pool table to practise on. I came to the area to visit a friend and added a Sunday night stay, including a bath night. The bathroom could use an update and looked a bit like a “crossroads motel,” but it was clean and usable. My junior suite was well presented, and I couldn’t find fault with it. Nothing to complain about. A good value stay that was well delivered and appreciated.

We had a happy stay and would definitely book again and recommend the hotel. It was lovely and warm, with music at just the right volume to create a good atmosphere. The food was very nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Sonia and the gentleman with her gave excellent service, though I’m sorry I didn’t get his name. A lovely lady called Nickie and Jeff also served us breakfast. Thanks to all the lovely, cheerful staff.

The team were welcoming, and the room was comfortable. The restaurant was great too, with nice food. A special thanks to Chido, who served me there. She was one of the most pleasant, friendly and helpful waitresses I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Genuinely, thank you!
