The Dundas Arms

Ruby and James looked after us so well at the pub that evening, and George was a lovely host the next morning. Everyone was friendly, and the atmosphere felt just right. My wife and I had a wonderful one-night stay, with clean, comfortable rooms and a fun pub serving amazing food. We were visiting from Canada and really hope we can come back one day.

We were sorry not to have booked dinner sooner, because the meal was so good. The flat iron steak and venison were both superb, and we polished off the mac and cheese too. Huge credit to the chef and the friendly, accommodating staff. Breakfast had a great choice as well. We stayed at the Dundas Arms on Dec 30th and loved the cosy, vintage feel of the rooms, the comfortable bed, and the very powerful heating. It was a lovely pause in the rush before heading back to everyday life, and a great break on a longer drive to Wales/Bristol/Bath. We wished we could have stayed longer and hope to visit again. I imagine the garden room is popular in the warmer months. Happy New Year to everyone working hard to make this such an enjoyable place to stay and eat.

Dinner was divine, and the service was excellent. You can tell a lot of care and pride goes into this place. The room was spacious and beautiful, with an earthy, luxurious feel. The hotel was easy to find in a lovely, quiet village beside a beautiful river, and the atmosphere was peaceful. Great value, and only an hour from the airport. I'd happily stay again and highly recommend it.

The vegetarian Wellington roast may be the best I've ever had, and everyone at the table had something delicious. My family chose roast chicken, one of us had the burger, and we added cauliflower cheese on the side, a very good indulgence. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the whole Sunday lunch was fantastic, easily a 10/10. Afterwards we enjoyed a walk around the beautiful grounds and river views. We'll definitely be back.
