Cottons Hotel & Spa

The pool was great, and there’s also a steam room, sauna, and a nice outdoor hot tub. There isn’t much seating or many beds around the pool, though. Our room was comfortable, but there was some machinery noise at night. We were on the top floor, so I suspect it was air handling or something similar. The food and drinks were great, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. They offered help without waiting for us to ask. Lovely hotel.

The staff were all pleasant and polite, and Paul Savage went above and beyond. He’s a real credit to the hotel. This was my third visit to Cottons, and I’m already looking forward to coming back soon. My room was clean and the bed comfy. Dinner in the restaurant on Saturday was lovely, and breakfast the next morning was very nice with lots of choice. I also had a lovely pedicure.

The tea and coffee caddie had just one sugar and was so dirty. I also found the provided dressing gown had a burn hole and a torn pocket, and the room’s cleanliness was far below an acceptable standard. The kettle and shower head were especially concerning for hygiene. I stayed in Room 258 after booking four rooms at Cottons Hotel Knutsford, and was shocked by the condition. I’ll attach photos. I raised the problems with reception during my stay. The young gentleman working apologized and offered £20 off the room, but that didn’t feel like a fair response to cleanliness issues of this kind. I’ve stayed many times before and often booked several rooms, sometimes as many as eight, which makes this even more disappointing. After this visit I don’t feel confident staying there again unless it’s properly addressed. I’d like a full reply after the photos are reviewed and the matter investigated internally, including how it will be resolved. I emailed the hotel and head office too, and am still waiting for a response.

Amanda made my spa day feel special, like I was the only person who mattered. She was warm and professional during my treatments, explained everything beforehand, then talked me through what she’d done to suit my skin afterwards. I felt completely at ease with her. I’d heard about Cottons spa through a recommendation and would gladly recommend it myself. The staff and facilities are wonderful. I had a lovely day and will book again with my husband.
