The pool was just right for the kids, with a perfect temperature for swimming in November. We were disappointed the jacuzzi wasn’t working, though hopefully it’ll be fixed before we leave so we can use it. The spa staff were sweet and friendly. The beds were comfy, and the shower was great, which matters to us. We came for our daughter’s 4th birthday, and our room was a good size for all five of us, including our furbaby Lucky. The staff have been lovely, from the restaurant and bar team to housekeeping. We have two young kids and meals can get messy, but everyone was kind and happy to help. The kids’ food was tasty, generous, and clearly made with pride. We enjoyed it too, along with the service. They have toys to keep the kids busy. Housekeeping was really good, but I wish they’d give the floor a quick hoover, especially with kids and a furbaby making a mess each day over a four-night stay. The town isn’t far, parking is great, and there’s room to take the dog for long walks. We’re loving our stay and would definitely come again. Lots of gratitude from the Sanghani family x

The housekeeping team kept our room spotless throughout, and the staff made my husband’s 40th birthday feel truly special. We hired a private room for the celebration, then they surprised us by letting us use it for the rest of our stay, which made for a relaxed family gathering and private breakfast. The staff also gave us a beautiful celebration cake. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and we can’t recommend Holiday Inn Lancaster enough for special occasions. Five stars don’t cover it. Thank you to all the staff! 13/12/25

I travel a lot for work, and arriving at a hotel alone in the evening is usually a lonely, sometimes intimidating moment. It’s that “Phew, made it” feeling. This time the check-in felt different. The young woman was chatty and gave me a tip about the great hashbrowns at breakfast, which I hadn’t tried on earlier stays. Most of all, she made a point of not saying my room number out loud, just the floor. It seems small, but it made a huge difference to how safe I felt. She really stuck in my mind and is such an asset. Thank you, sister 🫶🏻

The location was convenient, and the hotel had a warm, welcoming feel. Breakfast was fresh, with a good range of options. Staff were professional and welcoming, and check-in was smooth and hassle-free. My room was comfortable and well equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The service exceeded my expectations. I’d highly recommend Holiday Inn for comfort and quality.

**Update:** Someone got in touch this morning and sorted out the refund quickly. They’re also dealing with it internally to help prevent this happening to other customers. Maybe it was a one-off, but thank you for handling it so fast. I often stay at Holiday Inn for work, but this was my first time eating at the Lancaster location, and it’ll be my last. I ordered the chicken and pulled pork burger. The chips and two onion rings did more to show up than the chicken did. It cost £17.50 plus a £1.75 service charge, £19.25 in all, so I expected the chicken to be more than a tiny presence. It looked impressive when it arrived, tall and stacked, but the first five bites were basically lettuce. I finally found a piece of chicken on the sixth bite, tucked under the bun. It was about half a centimetre thick and didn’t cover even half the bun. More lettuce sandwich with emotional support chicken than chicken burger. I don’t usually complain, but I showed the waiter and explained why I was disappointed. He agreed and took it to the kitchen, then came back with, “It is what it is.” I asked for a refund. He said he’d speak to the manager, who never came to talk to me. I was told refunds couldn’t be processed there, and when I asked how to get my money back, they said to email. I had to ask again before anyone gave me an email address. The waiter was polite and seemed new, so I don’t blame him. The real problem was the lack of care, service, and follow-up, especially for that price. Very disappointing. If you order that burger, bring a magnifying glass to find the chicken.
