Livingston Lodge Hotel

Tracey gave us a warm welcome at reception and was really helpful. Oscars had plenty of choices, and I especially liked the steak pie. The room was fresh and very clean, with a decent shower and fluffy towels. For a 3 star hotel, it was much better than I expected. The bed was comfortable, though I would've preferred another pillow. I'd happily stay again.

We booked two nights in a family room but left at 5:30am after the first. Both beds had big fleas in them, full of blood when squashed. Disgusting. They clawed at my skin all night, I couldn't sleep and didn't even shower. The bar area was full of young boys during the night, which left us very uncomfortable. The person at check-in was lovely, but their shift ended at 5pm, so we couldn't even complain. Wouldn't recommend staying here.

The staff seemed great, and the place was generally clean. We only needed a few hours' sleep before our flight, so it did the job. The bathroom had some mould patches, though, and the room looked much more dated than the online photos. You get what you pay for.

We didn't feel safe in the room and handed the keys back to reception. It smelled damp, with marks on the floor, walls and bed, filthy windows and mirror, and mould in the bathroom. There were also lots of visible bodge job repairs. On the way there, we'd passed stained, ripped carpets and wall frames with their photos ripped out. The building looked run down outside too. The desk person had been very helpful and offered to show us to the room, but once there, the employee opened the door and disappeared quickly. I don't blame her. I told the receptionist the room was disgusting and I wasn't willing to stay. She said she was sorry I felt that way. My partner said it stunk of damp, and she completely ignored that, so it clearly wasn't the first time she'd heard it. Do not stay here.
