We stayed in the Ty Gwyn room for two nights at the end of November 2025. It was very clean and had lots of wardrobe and drawer space, as well as tea and coffee, two bottles of water, two chocolates and one packet of biscuits. The bed had a warm duvet, which was welcome when the room got cold overnight after the heating switched off. Breakfast was plentiful, hot and tasty both mornings, though we had to move tables because of a draught from the large dining room window. The room’s high ceiling and big front window were part of why we chose it. The website photo showed two chairs by the window, a nice spot for coffee and watching the world go by. But when we got back after dinner and a few drinks, we found a draught coming through the window. We just got into bed with the heating on. After a day exploring Llandudno, we came back around 5.30pm to find that tea and coffee had been replenished, but there was still only one pack of biscuits. The bed hadn’t been made and the bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied, which wasn’t what I’d expect from a 4-star guest house. I had a quick bath, my partner showered with plenty of hot water, then we had a coffee and went out to dinner. Holcombe House is very well located for the town centre and attractions like the beach and tram. There’s a car park that can just about fit two cars. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were lucky that someone was leaving, so we got to park right outside. In summer, you probably wouldn’t notice the window draughts, and the high ceiling would likely be an advantage in hot weather.

The gardens were beautiful, and breakfast service was friendly. We loved being close to the tram, promenade and other attractions, and never had trouble finding parking on nearby roads. The cooked breakfast was delicious, as were the creamy local yoghurts and fruit salad. We had a lovely stay and would definitely book the family room again. Thanks, Jose and team!

The location just below the Orme is peaceful, yet the beaches, high street and Haulfre Gardens are all easy to reach. Our host gave us a fantastic welcome and put everyone at ease. It’s a classic Victorian-style guest house, with spacious, clean rooms and light, fresh decor, plus lots of classy little touches. There are facilities for drying things if you get caught in the rain. You can order a packed lunch, and they’ll fill your flask too. Internet was good.

The rooms felt very welcoming, and the breakfast had an excellent selection of quality items. They pay great attention to detail. I’d strongly recommend it.

I felt right at home and comfortable at this charming guesthouse. The owners were so friendly and helpful, and you can really feel how much care they put into making guests feel welcome. Breakfasts were generous and delicious, and I really appreciated that they catered for my gluten intolerance. The location is handy too. There’s a pub nearby for dinner, and the main waterfront is a short walk away.
