The Seafront Hotel

The staff, food, sea view and location were all superb, but the hotel as a whole needs a full revamp. Our room was dull and unwelcoming, with a leaking shower, a sink that took about three minutes to drain and filthy inside window panes. The carpets need a deep clean, or better yet, replacing. There was a new smoke detector on the ceiling with a grey circle painted around it, while the other two old brackets were still there. Come on, owners, guests and staff deserve better.

Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The room was clean and basic, fine for one night, though the bathroom was average, the toilet squeezed into a tight spot and the shower floor extremely slippery. The hotel was very noisy, like elephants running up and down. Staff were helpful when around, but I had to go looking for someone several times, both to check in and to get served at the bar. If I stayed again, I wouldn’t use the bar, the prices were ridiculously high.

The staff were so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us, and the room itself was clean, comfortable and great for a good night’s sleep. The beds were super comfortable, with lovely seafront views. Unfortunately, condensation between the panes covered the window and spoiled the view from our gorgeous sea view room. The building needs a lot of work, but I’d still recommend it if you want somewhere clean and tidy to sleep.

We arrived on Monday 26th jan 2026 and Julie at reception was lovely, giving us directions to our room. The double was clean and cosy, but its bathroom light wasn’t working. Maintenance came to sort it, but didn’t have the right bulb, so we were moved to a family room instead. It was huge, with a big clean bathroom. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the linen was clean and the towels fluffy. Breakfast had plenty, both continental and Full English, though no mushrooms, not the end of the world, just saying. Everyone was friendly, but Julie really stood out. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable, and for sharing our love of football and Liverpool F.C. We’ll return sometime. Jann & Brian Keating.
