I keep coming back to Chateau Denmark because it has such a distinctive character and a comfortable atmosphere. The service is consistently good, and George, one of the butlers, deserves a special mention. He’s polite, professional, calm, and welcoming, with a positive attitude and real attention to detail. The care and respect he shows guests make a difference. It’s a unique London stay, and the service is a big reason I return.

I’ve stayed at Chateau Denmark many times and even come here as a little self-care sanctuary. I love this hotel more than anywhere else in London, maybe anywhere. It feels like an experience, not just a place to sleep. You’re right in the heart of Soho, only a few strides from TCR tube. If you prefer to arrive in style, there’s plenty of drop-off space outside the unusual entrance. Denmark Street, part of the famous “Tin pan alley,” is steeped in rock ’n’ roll and punk history. The music scene thrived here from the late 60’s, and many of the original guitar shops are still around. It feels more like a living museum than an ordinary street. The rooms in the main building range from entry level to huge, winding deluxe rooms. Denmark street also has hidden entrances leading to larger apartments and luxury suites. You can even book the apartment where the sex pistols first lived and recorded, which feels like a museum. The larger apartments have things I haven’t found in any other hotel I’ve managed or stayed in, along with seamless service and a butler for each room. I believe most suites and apartments are much bigger than the average hotel room, often around 40-80sq foot. My favourite apartment has the famous red bath tub set opposite a MAXI bar, almost the size of a speakeasy. It’s well stocked with quality spirits and reasonably priced fine wines, with everything you need to make cocktails. The VOID (?) sound systems are incredible, with speakers throughout the room, even behind secret mirrors that turn into TVs. You can chromecast too, and there are huge sub woofer(s) in most rooms and some bathrooms. The rooms are sound proofed, so no need to worry about the music. You can select everything through the TV. There are plush towels in abundance, and I was so impressed that I sourced their pillows and towels for myself. The lights have different settings for partying, relaxing, and night mode, in descending order of brightness. Some rooms can feel dark during the day, just a heads up, but that’s part of the experience and night mode is lovely for sleeping. Leather-like floors have little lights leading to the bathrooms and around the room, so it’s easy to find wardrobes and things. The maxi bar snacks are incredible too, with a gourmet selection. And the bed! It feels bigger than a super king, and you won’t want to get up. I’d book at least two nights if you can, or three if you’re partying or exploring the city, so you can enjoy every corner of each unique space. There’s commissioned artwork throughout the hotel, not just in the suites. The property also has the Lower Third music venue, two great restaurants, and room service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus snacks 24 hours a day. Tattu serves high-end Chinese cuisine, and the more relaxed “Thirteen” does cocktails and Japanese cuisine. Both are on the street, so you get all that alongside your huge bedroom bar, club-level sound system, dreamy bed, and wonderful staff. They have five-star service without the snobbishness I’ve found at other five-star hotels, and the experience doesn’t suffer for it. Even the bath tubs, toilets, and wardrobes are the best. Everything feels like a work of art, with so much culture in the place. They do their best to tailor each guest’s visit, and from my own experience and knowledge of hotels, you won’t be disappointed. It does feel designed more for adults, though. Special thanks to Tori Knipe for making my latest stay so memorable!

Tori and the staff are always so helpful, and we’ve never been overcharged at the bar. The rooms are stylish, roomy, and have everything you need, with comfortable beds. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when I’m in London. 10 out of 10 on every level.

BEWARE! While we were out, someone on the hotel staff stole my brand new Marshall headphones from our room. They were worth £279. The hotel took no responsibility and offered no compensation or refund. I wanted to leave a good review because the stay itself was fine apart from this, and the location and facilities were good. But management’s refusal to do anything is unacceptable, especially at this price. Whoever took them wasn’t caught and could keep stealing from future guests, so beware!

For our anniversary, the hotel upgraded our room and gave us a complimentary drink in the adjoining bar. It was a lovely surprise, and the townhouse apartment was fantastic, with a roll-top bath, extravagant bar area, separate bedroom, and a great sound system that helped set the mood while we got ready for a night out. The room was dark, low-lit, and moody. That might be a challenge for some, but for one night it was fine for us and added to the atmosphere. The property was unique and lived up to expectations. My wife and I had a great stay overall. The disappointing part came at checkout. The reception staff seemed cold and disinterested, barely acknowledged us, and didn’t even ask if we’d had a nice stay. It was close to rude, and didn’t match the outstanding accommodation and guest experience up to then.
