I booked one night before an early flight and asked for an en suite room for one, but the man put me in a room with a double bed and two single beds. The reception smelled horribly of curry and spices. The room was disgusting and smelly, worse than a zero-star hostel. The carpet looked like it had never been cleaned, there was tobacco left on the table from previous guests, and the bin bag hadn’t been changed. The TV was dusty, the toilet had stool marks, the bed covers had hairs on them, and there was a large patch of black mould in one corner. It looked as if the beds had been made in a rush. I turned the heating up all the way, but the room still wouldn’t get warm. I think sleeping at the airport would’ve been better. At least I wouldn’t have wasted my money in such a disgusting place or caught bedbugs. I’ve stayed in cheaper hotels in Europe and never found a place this disgusting. I guess in the UK all that matters is money, and they don’t care about hygiene or even making sure the place is clean and modest. If you want a decent hotel, I think you have to be ready to pay £80 a night. I hope I never have to book another hotel in this country again.

I’ve stayed here several times and really like the place. It’s a little shabby in spots, but very clean. They can do an excellent evening meal, and the buffet breakfast is more than adequate. There are several bus routes to both airport terminals, or they can provide a shuttle at a reasonable price if you prefer.

They charged me £12 for parking straight away, although Booking.com didn’t mention a charge and said parking was included with the stay. My room smelled bad, the TV remote didn’t work, and the TV was at an odd angle. The whole hotel needs renovating, and there’s a general lack of attention to detail. It’s in the middle of nowhere. I gave 72 hours’ notice to cancel another booking, but they refused to refund me. When I asked staff for help, they seemed surprised and confused. The cooked breakfast cost an extra £5 and was okay. The nearby Premier Inn costs the same with extra charges, but it’s more reliable and better quality.

The food was amazing, especially the masala chips, and the staff were really helpful. It’s a great spot for Gatwick if you’re flying early or late. The shuttle costs £19. Rooms are good, though they could use an update, and I think the owners are planning one. I loved my overnight stay and want to come back after I return from Poland in four weeks. Thanks, everyone, and keep up the good work!

I had a pleasant stay, but the facilities didn’t work well and the price was much too high for that. The TV wouldn’t work, and the man at reception didn’t know how to fix it. The water dispenser was broken too, so I had to lift the lid and put my cup inside to fill my bottle.
