The hotel itself is adequate, but its Terminal 5 name can give the wrong idea. Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 isn't attached to Terminal 5 and isn't walkable from it. If you're arriving there, the paid Hotel Hoppa costs about £7 each way and runs only twice an hour. You might wait 20-30 minutes, then spend another 10-12 minutes on the bus, so the transfer can take 30-40 minutes in all. A taxi or Uber for the short trip can cost £30-£45. Oddly enough, it would be faster and free to take Heathrow's inter-terminal transport to Terminal 4 and walk to the Hilton attached there. I also tried to get breakfast at the restaurant with my luggage before leaving, as I do at hotels around the world, but there was a "no luggage" sign. That's unreasonable for a hotel. I wasn't going to leave my bags unattended or go back up to my room, so I left and ate in the airport lounge instead. The name suggests a proximity that doesn't match the reality. It might be fine if you're driving, but it's surprisingly inconvenient when you arrive at Terminal 5, so it's worth knowing before booking.

The room was the one bright spot. Our family room was large, modern and very clean, but given the price, I wouldn't stay here again. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. We asked for a luggage trolley and they looked at one another in confusion before saying no. An airport hotel with no luggage trolleys is appalling. I had two children, lots of cases and a big stroller, and our room was far from the lifts, so getting our things to and from it was a struggle. In the morning, a staff member walked past while we were clearly struggling, on his phone and ignoring us. When I asked if he worked there and whether he could help take the luggage to the lifts, he huffed, seemed annoyed and didn't say much. The hallway looked rundown, too. And I'm not sure why it's called a Terminal 5 hotel when it's 15 minutes away and the airport shuttle costs £6.50 per person.

It's recently renovated, with good bars and restaurants, and our room cost less than an equivalent one at Hilton Terminal 4. The surroundings aren't pleasant, since it's in an industrial area, but you're not choosing an airport hotel for the scenery. Although it isn't on the London Heathrow property, getting there by taxi from most terminals is actually easier.

The relaxing atmosphere and excellent service made our stay at Hilton London Heathrow Terminal 5 better than we expected. Everything felt smooth, comfortable and welcoming from the moment we arrived, which mattered especially as we were travelling with family. We'd happily return and recommend it to anyone wanting comfort and first class hospitality near the airport. A special thank you to Rohan, the Manager. His hospitality and customer service were outstanding. He went out of his way to make my family and me feel welcome, and his warmth, professionalism and attention to detail made the stay feel extra special. That's rare service, and Rohan is a real credit to the Hilton brand.

We slept peacefully in the Twin Bed Executive Room, with no aircraft noise at all despite being near the airport. It was clean, modern and more spacious than I'd expected. Check-in was quick and straightforward, which helped while juggling luggage and flight times. The English breakfast was a highlight, from the golden hash browns to the crisp bacon and fluffy scrambled eggs. The Executive Lounge was relaxed and gave me a quiet place to unwind, though its food and drink selection could have been more generous compared with other Hilton lounges I've visited. There's a regular shuttle to and from Heathrow twice an hour, plus good parking options for both short stays and longer trips with vehicle storage. The hotel works well for an early flight or a late arrival into London. It's close enough to the terminals to be convenient, but far enough away to feel like a proper hotel stay. A comfortable, dependable place to recharge before or after a journey, and that breakfast is worth getting up for. 8.5/10.
