The hotel itself is fine, a typical Premier Inn, though the rooms are a bit battered and the bathroom wasn’t very clean. What really bothered me was staff letting local vagrants eat in the breakfast room, drink wine straight from the bottle and take hot food with their hands. I found it absolutely vile. I complained to Premier Inn and, predictably, felt fobbed off. I understand you get what you pay for and Premier Inns are cheap for a reason, but I didn’t expect them to let the local drunk tramp in for breakfast. I wouldn’t return.

The rooms were very clean, everything was neat and tidy, and service was timely. We had a wonderful experience at Premier Inn Broadway, with lovely staff, especially Ezekiel, James and Lorena. There are lots of nice places nearby for shopping, including Sandsbury, Morrisons and Tesco express. For food, there’s Gail, Bombay delight and Rosas Thai, with yummy delicacies.

The location is nice and the rooms are comfortable, but cleanliness is essential for me in a hotel, and the housekeeping situation was frustrating. During a 12-night business stay, I went four days without a single room clean, despite asking reception each morning and putting the notice on the door. Each evening I was told the cleaning staff had already left. The hotel has since sorted it out, so I’ve adjusted my review.

The steakhouse attached to the hotel has a brilliant menu and great food, with prices very reasonable for the quality. The Premier Inn itself is a solid, clean place with attentive staff. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the train station, with supermarkets nearby, including Sainsbury’s across the road. The Gym is opposite, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants close by, plus a theatre two minutes away.

Clean room, comfy bed and an ace shower. There’s no bath, which suits me. Miles better than the rooms in St. George's Hospital.
