The Biltmore Mayfair

We had tea and a relaxed snack at The Biltmore Mayfair, and my girls and I felt comfortable there from the start. It has a calm, family-friendly feel, with lovely décor that mixes classic style and modern comfort. The soft lighting and peaceful atmosphere suited a leisurely afternoon. The staff were kind and attentive, helping us settle in and bringing everything promptly. They were especially patient and warm with my girls. The tea and snacks were fresh and nicely presented, and even the teaware looked lovely. My girls were happy, and there was no sense of being rushed or pressured. It felt like a polished hotel without being intimidating, and the quality and care were there even for a casual visit. We really enjoyed our time and would happily come back. It's a lovely place for tea with friends or family.

The problem started with the booking. The official website showed The Biltmore Mayfair as part of the Millennium membership program and advertised member discounts and benefits. I booked through it and paid over £1,000 more than I could have paid on other booking sites, expecting those perks. At arrival, I was told the hotel doesn't recognize Millennium membership. That was the opposite of what I'd seen before booking, and left me feeling I'd paid a much higher rate for no real value. Staff weren't cooperative or clear about what had happened, and didn't make a real effort to sort it out. After the stay I emailed several times. The only offer was Afternoon Tea as compensation, which didn't match the seriousness of the problem or the price difference. Then they stopped replying. I can't see the point of paying more through a loyalty program if the advertised benefits aren't honored. This doesn't meet the standard I'd expect of a hotel that presents itself as five-star.

I'm still at the hotel, and so far the experience has been deeply disappointing for a place rated five stars. Noise is a constant problem: conversations, laughter, and shouting from neighboring rooms carry clearly through the walls. I was woken several times around 3 AM and couldn't get proper rest. I also had a personal item of clothing disappear from my room after housekeeping. When I reported it, there was no apology, follow-up, or urgency. I had to stop by reception each day to ask, and kept getting the same answer that they couldn't find it. The general hospitality has felt disengaged, with little care or attention and minimal effort when I raised simple concerns. Poor sound insulation, weak service, and careless handling of a guest's belongings don't match a five-star hotel. I can't recommend it, and hope management takes these issues seriously.

Everything felt easy, from the quick check-in to the fast help whenever I needed something. The staff were friendly, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. I had a really relaxing, enjoyable stay and would gladly recommend this hotel.
