I only went to the restaurant, not the hotel, and it was an easy walk from London Bridge. The building is beautiful inside and out, and it used to be a Grammar School. Service was very good. The food and roti were tasty, and the drink was good, though spicy enough to hit the back of my throat. The limited vegan choices were the one disappointment. I left hungry.

The building is stunning and so peaceful, and I can’t fault the hotel. The room was excellent, especially the bathroom with its heated toilet seat. The complimentary mini bar was amazing too. Best hotel I’ve stayed at in London, 10/10, I’ll return.

The roomy hall made a real difference. London restaurants can feel cramped, but here there was plenty of space and we never felt hurried, even after spending more than three hours. There was no time limit. At £49 each, it felt like good value. The savoury dishes were generous and could be refilled, though the sweets couldn't. I have a big appetite and was completely full by the end. The masala chai was refillable and a definite 10/10. The rose lassi was about a 7/10 for me, mostly because the paan/supari flavour may not suit everyone. There were four pastries or desserts to choose from. I didn't care for the soan papdi, but enjoyed the other sweets. Service was excellent with our large group, and the whole afternoon tea was better than most Indian desi teas I've tried, including Taj and several Wembley restaurants.

The Lalit is a beautiful hotel in a grand spot right by borough market. The rooms are lovely, the restaurant and breakfast room are large, and they serve an indian brekkie. Everything smelled beautiful, and the warm, attentive service made the stay genuinely relaxing. The staff are amazing, and the area's services are really superior. The hotel could do more to bring people in to dine and stay. The TV ad gave us a very different impression, which threw us, and my partner and I came away with lots of ideas for what the hotel could do. Reach out to us lalit, we'd be happy to help. There's a pub on that road that's busy late into the night, so there's clearly custom nearby. It'd be good to know what direction the hotel wants to take. If you're in the area, please consider staying here.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. The staff were professional, quick to respond and attentive to what we needed. I especially want to thank the whole team for taking care of our request before we arrived. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in London, and I highly recommend The Lalit hotel for a holiday getaway or staycation.
