The rooms are a good size, clean, and thoughtfully set up, with a well-equipped kitchenette. Beds are comfortable, the staff welcoming, and the location is handy for the quayside. Parking at the hotel costs extra. Breakfast was a big letdown for us despite an otherwise amazing stay. There was a breakdown in communication between reception and the kitchen, and I was left disappointed after checking several times about dietary restrictions. If I'd known the options would be so limited, I could easily have made my own breakfast in the room. Gluten-free and vegan choices are especially scarce. Vegetarians should be fine, though. The usual spread includes waffles, pastries, English breakfast items, tea, coffee and juice, if you don't have dietary restrictions. I'd stay again, but I'd come prepared for breakfast.

We stayed last night in a lovely, spacious suite with a kitchen and lounge area. Our room was ready even though we arrived very early. Kat was very helpful at check-in, and staff had left us prosecco, a birthday balloon, towel swans and a handwritten card. Kat was doing a double shift but was still smiling and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

The bed was comfortable, the shower had great pressure, and the room had a full-length mirror and a mini kitchen stocked with a good selection of utensils. Breakfast was basically an English breakfast. It was good otherwise, though I wish there had been some vegetables. The tables were cleaned often, and the staff were really friendly and kind.

The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They offered directions and travel advice, suggested places to eat, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The kitchen team worked well together, as did the room maids. The hotel has a small shop where you can buy oven meals to cook in your room and cold drinks. There's also a laundry room and a small gym with enough equipment for a workout. We slept really well during our three nights. The bed and shower were excellent, and the rooms were clean with a kitchenette, which is unusual but works well. The car park felt secure. Breakfast is served early and was excellent, with fruit, cereal, yoghurt, pastries, toast and preserves, plus a cooked option. Don't be put off by the location. The waterfront is just minutes away, although there are a few steps to manage. The city centre is about a 20-minute walk along an easy route. It was our first stay, and we were very impressed. A great spot for a city break.

Jenny at reception made a special vegetarian order for us to suit our dietary needs, which was a thoughtful touch. From the start, the service was impeccable, and the reception area was clean with beautiful decor. Our room, breakfast, parking and the location were all faultless. Thanks to Jenny and the whole team for a wonderful stay. We'll definitely return. 💕
