It was an unusual room, like a little house, and check-in was easy. The room was comfortable and close to where we needed to go. The roundabout was noisy, but that's not the hotel's fault, and I still slept. Breakfast was small, but there was fresh local bread I could eat, a nice little loaf.

We asked by email for a quiet room and instead got one beside a busy roundabout, with sirens and loud cars and motorbikes all night. The place was listed on Booking.com as a hotel, but it's actually a pub. Its own website advertised a fairly broad snack and evening menu, but staff were surprised it was still online and said they had stopped cooking some time ago. The advertised fantastic breakfast turned out to be bread and jam plus cereals that you prepare yourself, something I could have done at home. It wasn't a pleasant stay, and I wouldn't come back.

I stopped in for a drink while I was in the area for a training course in Norwich. The bar staff member didn't welcome me or make any general conversation, and I left after my drink without a good feeling about the place. It was a quiet weeknight, and he was complaining that he hadn't had a customer for hours. Coming from a pub background, I didn't find that professional. Customer service matters.

A great little pub, nicely decorated and in a good spot. Just right for a pint after a walk around Norwich or Mousehold Heath.

The manager was super helpful, and there was a very comprehensive continental breakfast. Although the place sits on a roundabout, the rooms are extremely well insulated against noise. A really great place to stay.
