Leonardo Hotel Nottingham

I spent an extended period here for work, and hope these comments are useful to the owners as well as other guests. Breakfast each morning was adequate, with a decent range of options. Dinner was disappointing: limited choices and quite overpriced for what you got, with food that was poorly made and presented. The taste was lacking across the meals. My room was spacious, but the lighting was dim and poor, and the floor was sticky, as if it hadn't been cleaned in a while.

I stayed one night and had a meeting in one of the meeting rooms the next day. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the clean room was quite spacious for a hotel. The 55-inch TV was huge but in a weird spot. The location is good, though there's no car park, so I had to walk a bit. Not a big deal, but having the car right there would be a big plus, especially in a storm. Noise from the ventilation and heating was pretty loud, and I could hear a lot from other rooms.

Big thanks to the team at Leonardo. They arranged an early check-in so my wife and friends could get ready for her 40th, with prosecco. When the shower stopped working this morning, Neve and her team really impressed me. They found us a room almost opposite, so we could freshen up before leaving without having to move our things. Breakfast was great too, with lots of choice and friendly staff.

Breakfast was excellent, with a superb selection from the buffet as well as made-to-order options, and the service in general was very good. Earlier, we waited over half an hour for the two Caesar Salads we ordered, and some of the chicken was dry. The bar wait later in the evening was excessive, with too few staff. Also, the shower in room 714 wasn't very good, and there were only two sets of towels for the three of us.
