Hill Farm Bed and Breakfast

Laura was a wonderful host, and we had a lovely room with a delicious breakfast. We spent a beautiful day walking the forest path to the neighboring pub, Victoria Arms, then following the Cherwell into Oxford. We caught an Uber back. Highly recommended.

We loved staying here for part of our second honeymoon. The countryside around it was beautiful, and our adorable room had everything we needed. It was small, as the online description said, so I thought it was good value for the price despite seeing a few complaints about that. The bed was extremely comfortable, the food was wonderful, and our host was welcoming and accommodating. Just keep in mind that it’s a bit out in the country, so you’ll want a vehicle.

We had an excellent Full English breakfast included, and the room had toiletries, tea, coffee and biscuits. It was clean and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed. The area is peaceful, away from the city and roads, while Oxford’s outskirts and the park and ride are only a short drive away.

The vegetarian breakfast left me hungry. There was no veg sausage or halloumi, just an egg, a tomato, a small mushroom, a small pot of beans, three tiny potatoes and one and a half slices of toast. The breakfast staff were lovely and did a great job, but that meal was a big disappointment. The farm’s grounds are beautiful, and our room was very clean. The tea, biscuits and bottle of water were a nice touch. I did notice the room description gave the double bed measurements, but I hadn’t paid much attention. With my 6ft 3, big partner, it felt cramped at night. I also found the room very small and claustrophobic, and the dark walls didn’t help. For what we got, I felt it was a lot to pay.
