Everyone working there was really pleasant, and the little area around the hotel has some nice facilities and felt safe and clean. The hotel itself could use a proper clean, especially a vacuum. We asked to have the room turned down and get fresh towels, but that didn’t happen. The staff all seemed lovely, though maybe there just aren’t enough of them or they don’t have the right equipment. Breakfast was another issue. Sausages and bacon were available, but not much else because of a kitchen power cut, which didn’t make much sense.

The room had a strong damp smell, possibly because the windows can’t be opened and the air con switches off when no one’s in the room. For a building that seems fairly new and modern, it was disappointing to see black mould all over the bathroom walls and ceiling. It was a cheap, short stay, so we didn’t ask to move rooms, but be warned.

The full English breakfast was really tasty, and the room was clean enough, though a bit tired. There are free parking spaces, but the receptionist couldn’t explain where they were, even when I showed an aerial view. I ended up paying £25 for overnight parking just to be sure.

There are a Co-op, Tesco, Iceland and Morrison nearby, along with coffee shops, so it’s easy to find what you need. Oxford central is about a 16-minute bus ride or a 30-minute walk, depending on your pace. The room was clean, the shower worked well, check-in was straightforward and the bed was comfortable. I’d suggest staying here if you’re visiting Oxford.

We stayed Monday to Wednesday, from the 23rd to the 25th. It’s a great base for visiting Oxford, and the rooms were clean. Free parking was a bonus. All the staff were lovely and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to Raool and Duty Manager Kate, both really lovely and a credit to the Premier Team. If there’s a Reward & Recognition, they deserve it. Can’t wait to stay again.
