A big skylight means the cabin stays very bright in summer, when Skye barely gets dark. If you need a dark room to sleep, bring an eye mask. Apart from that, we had no issues during our few days there. It’s a private, romantic little cabin, with farm animals around it and a wonderful view across the Skye landscape. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious, and the shower was comfortable. The wood-fired hot tub was a lovely feature and we made sure to enjoy it. The smart TV was handy for evenings, with Netflix and YouTube available.

The hot tub did a lovely job of easing our aches, and the peaceful setting made it easy to enjoy the serenity. I wasn’t sure at first whether it would be too far from Portree, but it turned out to be ideally placed for exploring Skye. The place was clean and well equipped. Willy met us when we arrived and took care of everything we needed. I’d gladly stay again. Thanks, Willy and Marlene.

We stayed in the rotunda for a few days and felt completely comfortable there. It faces some amazing views, and the cabin was very clean. Getting the fire going in the wood-burning hot tub was a fun challenge, and the tub was lovely once it was heated. The shower was beautiful too. If we return to Skye, we won’t stay anywhere else.

The skylight is lovely to look at, but it really needs a blind or something. In summer it stays bright at night while you’re trying to sleep, and the sunrise brings in more light too. That was my only downside during our fantastic three-night stay in the rotunda. The bed was very comfortable and the views were amazing. There’s a compact but well-equipped kitchen and a great bathroom with an excellent shower. Towels, bathrobes, slippers and a little welcome gift were provided. Outside, we had a bath-style hot tub and a couple of chairs for taking in the view.

The views and facilities were unbelievable, and we only wished we’d stayed longer. Rotunda was a joy from the moment we opened the door. The small kitchen worked really well for us, with a two-burner induction cooktop over a convection range, plus a high-end toaster, kettle and French press that all got plenty of use. The bed and linens were superb, and the bathroom had both a rain shower and handheld shower, with lots of hot water and strong pressure. Outside, the wood-fired tub is more of a Japanese-style soaker than a whirlpool, with no jets. It took about 1.5 hours to heat when we arrived. After that, you may want to tend the fire every few hours to keep it warm.
