Stattons Boutique Hotel

A great place to stay, with wonderful staff, comfortable beds and a great breakfast. Parking is a little tricky, so probably best not to bring an SUV. We’ll be back.

The room decor was absolutely lovely, and I liked that I could leave my car securely off the road in the car park. We stayed one night and had breakfast, which was very good. We didn’t make full use of the facilities given the short visit. It might be nice to have hot drinks refilled, so you can wash down your food.

The room was down a flight of stairs, but it was big and had plenty of space, as did the shower room. The bed was super comfortable, the Wi-Fi excellent and the shower hot and powerful. Check-in was quick and they gave me all the information. Breakfast wasn’t included, but it could be added, though I’m not sure what it cost. I drove around looking for the station hotel before realising it was part of a small chain. You check in at the garden restaurant, then get shown to a room in a different building across the road. Parking for that building costs extra. They can give you a permit if you’re lucky enough to find a space on the street. By then, I’d already paid to park along the promenade, a few minutes away. The garden restaurant looked good, but I didn’t fancy pizza. The pub was being renovated and wasn’t serving food, which seemed badly timed for the summer season. Surely winter would’ve been better. The beach and town are close by. I’d stay again if I’m in the area, and would recommend it.

We stayed here on our wedding night and really liked the room, which had a personal feel. It was relaxing, spacious and very clean, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was very nice too. We only spent one night because we were flying the next day, but I’ll keep recommending this place. I picked it partly for the free parking. I only gave the facilities a good rating because I was there overnight and didn’t check them out. Lovely stay.
