Getting help with problems was difficult because the man at reception was often away from the desk. When I did complain about the toilet leaking every time I flushed, he said he couldn’t do anything and offered another room, but that toilet wouldn’t flush at all. The rooms were dusty, cramped, and so small there was barely space to open a suitcase. The heating made a loud noise whenever it came on. WiFi was free for just 30 minutes, with expensive packages needed after that. The bathroom was disappointing too. There was only a shower curtain, no door, so water dripped all over the bathroom door. The soap dispenser in my shower didn’t work, and the soap and shampoo shared one dispenser. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, and I wouldn’t recommend booking here.

Richmond is a lovely base for getting around, with all the interesting places within walking distance. The room price was reasonable too.

We chose Richmond because it was convenient for family in London, including one relative who was in hospital. I used Google Maps to plan our different journeys and got everywhere without a hitch. I’d never used it before, but I’m a convert now 👍🏼. The hotel itself was clean and quiet, and the staff were very helpful. When the TV in our room stopped working, they asked if we wanted to move rooms, and we did.

Parking was the only downside. There’s a very expensive multi storey right next door, and another NCP multi storey behind the tube station that’s a bit better. We stayed for two nights. The rooms were clean, the staff polite, and the location was great, just a 2 minute walk to lots of good places to eat on Richmond High Street and to the tube station. I’d happily come again.
