The Richmond Bed & Breakfast

The morning meal was really well prepared, with several options to choose from, and our room was well equipped and serviced daily. My partner and I spent a few lovely days at Richmond Bed and Breakfast. The hosts were kind and very accommodating to what we needed and wanted. It’s a comfortable, well-run B&B near the beach. We’d happily stay again, and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay nearby. 10/10.

The owners, a husband and wife, were very friendly and helpful. The location is handy, close to both the city centre and beach, and our room was clean with daily room service. Breakfast was good and offered a few choices. We did find it hard to find somewhere to eat because outside food wasn’t allowed in the house. Another drawback was that the radiators weren’t on. We hoped the owners might turn them on, but we never asked. Still, it was a lovely place to stay, with excellent hospitality. I’d recommend it.

We had a spacious, very comfortable room that was spotlessly clean. The welcome was warm, and we felt right at home at this well-run B and B in a great location. Breakfast was lovely, and the coffee was truly great. A real find. Thanks, Mark and Caz. Highly recommend, and we’ll be back!

Breakfast was a treat: cereals and a full English, plus poached eggs served without us needing to ask. The Richmond also arranged our ferry crossing, and we received a considerable discount, so it’s well worth calling to ask about that service. The pub and restaurant food nearby was excellent too. We stayed over Christmas while visiting family on the Isle of Wight. The Richmond is one of the few guest houses in Shanklin open over the Xmas holidays. It felt more like a family home than a clinical corporate hotel, which made the atmosphere all the more relaxed. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the sheets and pillowcases were pristine. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
