Premier Inn Sheffield City Centre Angel St

The bed was fine, and the sheets and towels were clean. Check-in was easy, and the staff there and at breakfast were nice. But I wouldn’t stay here in winter again. On January 13th, the room was freezing when I arrived. I set the air con to 28 degrees before going out, and it was only a little warmer when I came back that evening. Our room was at the far end of the corridor, at the end of the air con ducting, and wasn’t getting warm air at all. The bathroom fan didn’t work, and the door latch was broken. Three other Premier Inns around Gatwick are better than this one.

The room was nice, clean and had a comfortable bed. The evening meal and breakfast were both very nice, and it’s a great spot for the theatre. We did have to pay an extra £5 for a twin room, though, and the USB sockets by the bed were broken. Good thing we brought plug adaptors.

Dinner was a lot better than breakfast, though on some busy days you can wait a while for it. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. The duvet covers were far too thick for me, and sometimes they switched on the thermostat without telling us. It also takes ages for the hot water to heat up. The stay was okay.

Samantha Marsden made my time here really pleasant. I stopped for a few drinks at the bar, where she was the only staff member, and she was friendly, helpful and quick with answers to everything I asked. She took the time to check I was all right and was always smiling. Whether cleaning or taking pots to the back and bringing clean ones out, she was constantly on the go. A kind, professional young woman who made everything easy for me. I’d happily recommend staying here and would come back. Thank you, Samantha.
