The staff were superb, so friendly and attentive. We had a margarita pizza with extra caramelised onion, which was one of the tastiest pizzas I've had, plus skin-on fries that were delicious and such a big portion I couldn't finish them. For £58 we got two mains, a side, two alcoholic drinks and three diet Pepsi. Very well priced for food this good.

We came back after staying here last year, but sadly this visit wasn't as good. Our top-floor room was smaller than the ones on the middle floor, and there was a lot of noise, presumably from the plumbing in the neighbouring rooms. There was plenty of black mould in the shower cubicle, and the hair dryer didn't work. Dinner was OK, while breakfast was good. The staff are friendly and the location is very good.

A walk in the woods or dales, then a pint by the roaring open fire with your dog, is hard to beat. This is the best local pub in my opinion. It can get super busy, but the food is amazing, the Sunday roast might be the best anywhere nearby, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

We spent the afternoon here with friends for a birthday get-together. The pub is cosy and delightful, with a varied choice of drinks and food. We decided to stay for a meal and were glad we did, the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend it for both food and drinks.

Timothy Taylor beers are served here, which topped things off nicely. The food was good quality and very tasty, the bar service was quick and friendly, and service in the restaurant that Wednesday evening, 11th February, from the young gentleman was excellent. An excellent experience.
