We booked via Hotels.com because it listed breakfast, but that wasn’t available. Instead, we got a text pointing us to nearby Wetherspoons or Morrisons. The website also said there was free on-site parking, which wasn’t true, so we drove around looking for a space and luckily found one a couple of streets away. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillow felt like a rock. There wasn’t any milk for a drink, either. Our friend stayed at the same time and also wouldn’t recommend it. Would we come back or recommend it? No.

The room was way too small. If the idea is to keep the price low, I’d rather pay a few bucks more for somewhere comfortable than be given a room this cramped. Don’t cut corners at the guest’s expense.

Everything turned out just as good as it looked online, even though this Airbnb seemed almost too good to be true. The apartment was cosy and comfortable, with a comfy bed and a clean, bright bathroom. Nisha was thoughtful and fun, gave us all the information we needed, and went well beyond what was needed to make our stay memorable and comfortable. The location was incredible, and Nisha was a big help with her excellent restaurant suggestions. Thanks, Nisha and Elmswood Guest.

We got such a warm welcome, and the breakfast was excellent. It was our first visit to South Shields, and we’d definitely recommend staying here. The room was lovely and really clean, with matching furniture and bed linen.

The team at Walkerville Guest House deserve a big thank you. The staff were friendly and down to earth, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the WiFi was strong. It had a nice, quiet atmosphere, and we slept like babies 🤗💟. I’d recommend it for a business trip or a family stay, and will definitely book again.
