The room and bathroom were very spacious, and the shower was mega. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking on site costs extra, which feels like a downside for a nice big hotel at these prices, especially since an outside agency runs the car park. There’s a car park less than 100m away that’s free from 17:30 until 8am. Would I stay again? Definitely.

It’s good to see investment going into this lovely hotel in a prime Stirling location, with the work helping to bring it back to a high standard. Compared with earlier visits, the bedrooms have been upgraded and the interior redecoration is continuing. We were very happy with our room and slept comfortably. The parking charge is now £10 for 24 hours, down from £15, which is a welcome and reasonable change for such a central spot. Staff were friendly, efficient and motivated. The hot buffet breakfast has been replaced by a full Scottish breakfast served at the table, alongside a continental buffet. Direct reservations get the upgrade menu for free. We’ll be back.

A pleasant, clean hotel with lovely staff and a nice breakfast. Our room had just been painted, so the fresh paint smell was quite strong. The hotel is really warm, though, and opening the window sorted it out. I’d stay again. A coffee machine would have been nice at breakfast.

The rooms were fine, and the night staff member was nice and accommodating. The breakfast server was especially helpful and did a great job meeting my vegetarian needs. I had a bad experience with the complimentary water. The bottles in my room’s fridge had already been used, so I called reception to ask for replacements, but no one picked up. After breakfast the next morning, I went to reception and explained that the cleaners may have forgotten to replace them before I checked in. The staff member said every room is checked after cleaning, which made it sound as if she thought I was lying. She did give me new water and said I didn’t need to pay, even though I offered. Guests shouldn’t be made to feel like cheats over water. I’ve still given five stars because I don’t think one staff member should be responsible for a lower rating.
