Globe Inn

The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable, and breakfast was lovely too. We stayed at the hotel with family and friends after celebrating our wedding reception at the Globe, and the whole day was made special by everyone there. We first approached them 18 months earlier because we needed a reception venue and had seen the function room. Claire, the manager, talked through the options and was helpful and accommodating right up to the day. I must have emailed her hundreds of times with questions, sorry Claire, and she always replied so quickly. We're very grateful. She helped dress the room, and it looked breathtaking. The chef deserves a big thank you as well. The food was amazing, hot, and served in huge portions, just how we like it. I was too overwhelmed to eat my meal, but it was beautiful, and all our guests loved theirs. The buffet for 50 was stunning. Ben and his son, the in house DJ, did a remarkable job. The lighting and sound were great, and everyone was dancing. Our guests and we had the best night ever. Thank you all for making our special day perfect in every way. Love, Clare and Steve x

The Globe was a great place for our party. The function room had a lovely amount of space, its own bar and the facilities we needed. The staff were superb, and the bar prices were good. We arranged food for 50 guests, and it was an outstanding spread with plenty to go around. They also catered fully for our allergies. The in house DJ was just as good, with music for all ages. There was lots of parking as well. No surprise that the venue gets booked months ahead.

My room had plenty of storage and a comfortable bed. At the pub, there were lots of beers on tap and a good food selection. I had the steak and ale pie, which was packed with really nice steak. A lovely old pub.

Friendly staff, a welcoming atmosphere, and a very clean place. The prices were reasonable too.
