The staff are great and the atmosphere is friendly. The rooms need some care, but they’re clean and the beds are very comfortable. Fine for one night, though I wouldn’t want to stay longer since the place doesn’t feel well looked after. Parking was hard to find, and the pub sits beside a busy roundabout. There are lots of amenities nearby and easy access to the roads. Breakfast and other food are available at reasonable prices, but we went to Morrisons for breakfast, so I can’t comment on them.

We just needed a quick stopover, and this worked perfectly. The room was clean, with two pillows per person and facilities for making drinks. There was a nicely cooked breakfast in the morning, and free tea and coffee too. The staff were friendly and efficient. Sure, it’s noisy downstairs, but it’s a pub! Don’t believe the bad reviews.

The noise went on all night, with shouting, banging and people arguing in the corridors. Then a man and woman started fighting outside, screaming and swearing, and the police arrived with their lights flashing. I watched from the window, wondering what I’d got myself into. The room felt dirty from the moment I arrived. There were stains on the blinds and crumbs in the drawers, and the bleach smell was so strong it made my eyes water. It seemed like they were trying to cover something worse. The door wouldn’t shut properly, leaving a gap you could see daylight through, and the fire exit opened onto a dark alley that didn’t feel safe at all. I’ve stayed in some rough places, but nothing prepared me for the Fazeley Inn. Between the mess, broken fixtures, constant chaos and feeling unsafe, I left exhausted and stressed, and relieved to be out of there. Avoid it.

We were out of there within an hour, checked out and found somewhere else. I was with a group of women, and we didn’t feel safe in our separate rooms. The fire exits opened onto a back alley, and the room doors were easy to get into because the handles didn’t fit and left gaps. There was no tea or coffee setup either. The rooms were filthy. Drawers had crumbs in them, and the blinds were covered in who knows what and didn’t even block the windows. The bleach smell was strange, like it was covering something. I didn’t even want to check the bed after what I’d seen. The welcome was cold, and the staff were rude, though they seemed surprised when we said we weren’t staying. A few small fixes could make the place quite nice, but it seems the owners or management aren’t checking the details. Such a shame. And a bit of advice, don’t go on 4 in a bed. What a shambles. To be frank, I wouldn’t rate it a 1.

The staff were very pleasant, and the rooms were clean and comfortable, with good value for money overall. They could use some paint and updating, and the carpets were a bit grubby. Parking was a bit of a nightmare, with only a few tight spaces, so staying could be a problem if the car park is full. I didn’t eat in the pub, so can’t comment on the food.
